Did you miss us? It felt like we weren't coming back, didn't it? The summer break was a little longer than we anticipated, but we're thrilled to announce that ChocCity Cornhole will be returning for the Fall Season on September 5th, 2024! This season, we're continuing our tradition of Social (now called Open Play) and Competitive Play (now called Tournament Play), offering something for everyone, whether you're a seasoned pro or just looking to have some fun.

This season we're throwing outside at The Plaza at Union Market. Playing outdoors is always a vibe, and we're delighted to offer the group easy access to Union Market's fantastic food and drink options. Plus, enjoy the convenience of their parking lot—cheers to that!

What We've Been Up To
Although we've been on break, it's been a busy and exciting time for ChocCity Cornhole! Here's a quick highlight of some of our recent events:
Community K.O.D (Kid off Drugs) Baltimore, MD
In partnership with the Baltimore City Health Department, we set up the boards for an afternoon of fun, learning, and community. K.O.D. (Kids Off Drugs) is a high-energy, school-based initiative that helps youth and young adults avoid or reduce substance use. The program helps young people learn about the history of drugs in Baltimore and the cultural norms that lead to substance use.
We had such a great time throwing bags with the local community, at Shake and Bake Family Fun Center.
BlerdCon Arlington, VA
This was one for the (comic) books! Leading up to BlerdCon 2024, we had no idea what to expect, but our experience exceeded our expectations. Our session, titled "Cornhole is invited to the Cookout: Path to Pro", brought out an enthusiastic group of Blerds to hear about ChocCity Cornhole, engage with ACL Pro, Ryan Smith, and throw bags. We wrapped the session with a throw-off and prizes, before walking around and experiencing BlerdCon for ourselves.
This provided a fantastic opportunity for us to explore how we can introduce cornhole into the diverse spaces within our community. We hope to participate and welcome a larger crowd, next year!
Summer Celebration @ Common Good City Farm Washington, DC
When Common Good City Farm calls, we answer. It's always a pleasure to set up on this community farm, located in NW, DC. This summer we joined their July Summer Celebration, threw bags, ate BBQ, and did a lil veggie shopping. If you're ever in the area, check out this community staple.
Bags for a Cause - Fundraiser & Cornhole Tournament
ChocCity collaborated for the second consecutive year to organize a Charity Cornhole Tournament aimed at raising funds for the Lupus Research Alliance and showing support for our dear friend, Antoinette. It was a delightful afternoon spent throwing bags with friends and engaging in friendly competition, all in the name of a noble cause. We crushed the Antoinette's fundraising goal <3

Boeing Potomac Region Pride Party
ChocCity Cornhole teamed up with Boeing Pride Alliance and the Boeing Black Employee Association for their June Pride Party event. The ChocCity Cornhole crew, true to their commitment to fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere, took part in the festivities to share their love for cornhole.
